In the meantime, Ive begun striping away unnecessary elements, content and pages; so pardon the dust during this remodel. And just to give you a little insight into where I will be taking the site, and how I plan to implement changes, here’s what I’m thinking.

Previously, I tried to have several pages that contained different categories of the various work I did. This just made the site feel overly bloated and was a navigation nightmare. Going forward with the new site, I will just have all may work in one central location. Just a straight portfolio page that focuses on two categorial criteria: case studies for UX related work; and other projects like code based work, games, applications, photography and graphic designs. Both these categories will in their own sections on the page.

Other supporting pages with include a resume page, about page, and a contact page. I will use these pages to highlight my experience but also help flush out my personality a bit more. I want those who visit my site to feel like the time they leave, they have a better sense of who I am.

As a final note, this current site is WordPress supported, and although I am looking into using WordPress again for the website refresh (because it’s just a good content management system), this time around I will relying more on my skills as a designer and developer. I plan to use the Bones theme so that I can build what I want and how I want with minimal overrides. It was major headache the first time around with the current site, so I would like to avoid that in the future.

Below you will find links to two websites that are sort of my inspiration for the new site. One has inspired me on the sort of content I would like to have in my site and how it’s organized; the other is all about the style, layout and animations. Here’s a hint on what I’m thinking, I want to implement ‘Scroll Magic’ as a major feature in my site.

Don’t forget to check back soon, as I will begin dropping in links to my live HTML/CSS wireframes/prototypes.
